Lori is a certified Pilates instructor with advanced training in STOTT PILATES®. STOTT PILATES® is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates. Co-founders Moira and Lindsay G. Merrithew, along with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals, have spent more than two decades refining the STOTT PILATES® method of exercise and equipment. This resulted in the inclusion of modern principles of exercise science and spinal rehabilitation, making it one of the safest and effective methods available. This clear and detailed approach forms the basis for STOTT PILATES® training and certification programs. It's used by rehab and prenatal clients, athletes, celebrities and everyone in between.

SOME HISTORY: Joseph Pilates developed the Pilates Method during World War I as a method of rehabilitating injured soldiers while he was a prisoner of war. It progressed in the 1920's to become a rehabilitation exercise among the dance community in New York City, and continues to be very popular within the dance profession, as well as many other professions, including golfers, football players, actors, etc. Joseph Pilates developed the Method as a "mind-body" exercise; becoming more mindful while exercising by controlling our breathing during movement and focusing on what the body is doing.
